School Leavers - fast track to an Automotive Apprenticeship through Free TAFE

Box Hill Institute and the Australian Automotive Dealer Association (AADA) have recently engaged in an agreement to fast-track studying a Certificate II in Automotive Technology Servicing (offered under the Free TAFE banner) and securing an apprenticeship in state-of the-art dealerships and workshops across Melbourne.
With immediate options available for early school leavers, as well as Year 12 graduates, the 8 week program allows students to achieve their Certificate II qualification, and explore the commencement of a paid Certificate III apprenticeship with a prestigious dealership or workshop.

Market Conditions Driving the Opportunity
To better contextualise the employment demand, a recent member survey of dealerships conducted by the AADA revealed that 97% are suffering from a shortage of skilled technicians in their workshops; and that, these dealers are unable to fill vacant positions.
Our response
In response, BHI’s Auto Fast-Track program offers technical training and highly pro-active job placement and coaching to help our students secure the right role. With a large network of dealers already requesting our assistance, we hope to continue our proven track record of transitioning young people to the industry.
